Glint Joins LinkedIn to Create a World Where People Love Their Jobs

Yesterday Glint announced that it has signed an agreement to be acquired by LinkedIn. These two companies are joining forces to achieve the shared vision of creating a world where people are happier and more successful at work.

We couldn’t be prouder of Glint founders Jim Barnett and Goutham Kurra, who built an exceptional company over the last five years.   This was the second time that Norwest had backed Jim as a founder — we previously invested in his company Turn, which had a successful exit to Singtel. Jim also served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Norwest, so we have had the pleasure of working closely with him over the years and watching him excel as a company builder and leader. I have had the privilege of serving as a board member of both Glint and Turn over the past decade, and I consider my many years of working with Jim to be one of my greatest honors as an investor. His leadership, integrity, strategic perspective, and ability to drive companies forward form a rare combination that makes him a uniquely effective CEO.

At Glint, Jim and his team have not only created an exceptional real-time people success platform, but they have also helped some of the world’s top organizations increase employee engagement, develop their staff and improve business results. We knew Glint was at the forefront of a major wave of innovation in human capital management back when we invested in their Series A in 2013. The acquisition by LinkedIn is confirmation that Glint has built a truly special suite of enterprise applications.

Beyond building a superior product, Jim assembled an outstanding team and developed a truly high-performance culture at Glint.  Employees loved working at Glint, and customers loved working with Glint.  The results were off the charts: we have never seen such consistently high customer satisfaction as we witnessed at Glint.  The customer satisfaction was a testament to the enormous value from Glint’s applications and the amazing service and support delivered by the Glint team.

We are excited for Glint’s next chapter with LinkedIn.  These two companies have similar goals, values, and cultures. Glint’s mission to help people be happier and more successful at work aligns perfectly with LinkedIn’s mission to connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.  It is an excellent match for both parties, and we look forward to seeing what these teams can build together.

Congratulations again to Jim and the passionate and talented team at Glint.  We at Norwest are thrilled and proud to have been associated with such an impressive group and will be rooting for all of you in the years to come.
