David focuses on growth equity investments across a wide range of sectors at Norwest including information technology, business services, financial services and consumer.
Before joining Norwest in 2009, David worked at Redpoint Ventures, where he identified and evaluated seed, early-stage, growth-stage and PIPE opportunities in the information technology and digital media sectors. Prior to Redpoint, David was an Associate at Spectrum Equity Investors, a private equity firm with $4 billion under management. In this position, David evaluated and executed leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth equity investments in the technology, media and services sectors. He also advised portfolio companies such as Demand Media and Ancestry.com.
Earlier, David was an Analyst in the Technology, Media and Telecom investment banking group at Goldman Sachs. David advised companies and financial sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, financings, divestitures, and business development opportunities. His transaction experience included advising Siebel Systems in its sale to Oracle, taking Shopping.com public, and advising Sabre Holdings in its acquisition of WorldChoiceTravel.com.
David’s interests include skeet shooting, golf, snowboarding (member of the Cal snowboarding team), and the outdoors (Eagle Scout).
David holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor of science degree, with honors, in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. David has also studied at the London School of Economics and Peking University.
