Matt has more than 25 years of strategic finance, operations/technology, fund/portfolio management, and capital formation experience across private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund/RIA strategies. As Norwest’s Administrative Partner and CFO, Matt oversees the global operations functions for the firm including HR, Finance, Tax, IT, Facilities, and Data Science. He also plays a key role in the firm’s fundraising efforts and serves as a trusted advisor to finance leaders in the portfolio.

Before joining Norwest, Matt was CFO at Watershed Asset Management (an SEC RIA). At Watershed, Matt was responsible for the diverse business operations for multiple hedge funds. Prior to that, he was Fund Controller at Highland Capital Partners, where he was part of a team responsible for the operations and finance functions for multiple venture capital and private equity funds. Matt previously held positions at Sowood Capital Management, Liberty Mutual Group, and Ernst & Young.

Matt holds a BBA with a major in accounting from the Mendoza College of Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Boston with a focus on finance and international business. Matt is a certified public accountant.
